Tue 3rd Jan 2012 Wemyss Single Cask Lemon Grove: 5+/5

A Speyside single malt distilled at the Cragganmore Distillery in 1989 and aged for 22 years in a hogshead which yielded 371 bottles. Part of the Wemyss Malts Single Cask 2011 Autumn Release - the first Wemyss single cask bottlings to include the name of the distillery on the front label.

Appearance: Clear, pale straw golden.

Aroma: Delicate zesty lemon and orange blossom nose with pear drops, biscuity vanilla, lemon barley water and buttercups.

Taste: Flavoursome, slightly sweet, lemon zesty, rounded palate with lightly spiced oak, fresh mint, lemon barley water and generous malted barley.

Aftertaste: Long, rewarding zesty lemon meringue pie, slightly toasty finish with delicate spice and smoothing linseed oil.
