The World of Patria, the specialist wine, beer and spirit distributor has today announced its appointment as representative for Blavod Vodka, Blackwood's Gin and Cockspur Rum in Travel Retail and Duty Free in the UK and Europe, and for Cruise Ships both in the UK and US.

Blavod is triple distilled to achieve a pure, neutral vodka coloured with black catechu (cat-e-chu) to give its distinctive colour.

It is not surprising that with all of the designer vodkas on the market that someone would devise a way to add colour to the famously clear liqueur without drastically disturbing any of the flavour characteristics of true vodka. Black catechu is a herb extract from the heartwood of acacia catechu, a tree native to Burma and Eastern India.

Black will always be the colour that defines style and sophistication and it has a place in the world of spirits as well. Blavod is an "outrageously smooth" vodka, which floats on top of most mixers offering a whole range of possibilities for the creative barman.

Blackwood's Gin is the world's first hand-picked gin, which is infused with botanicals, hand-picked on the ocean-ravished islands of Shetland. It is triple distilled in Scotland.

Cockspur Rum was established in 1884. Cockspur Rum is one of the many popular rum beverages from the Eastern Caribbean island nation of Barbados.

Cockspur Fine Rum is matured slowly in American white oak barrels before being expertly blended to create the final product.
